Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Dear friends of Center Lake,
By now you have most likely received numerous letters and notices from all types of organizations about each of their responses to the Covid-19 virus. Over the last week Center Lake staff and board members have been working through a response to the current pandemic and how we plan to move forward. This is an ever-changing time and we will make updates regularly if needed.
Here is our current response.
During this ever-changing time, we are seeking God's wisdom and guidance in every decision that is made. In Philippians 4:6-7 we are instructed to not be anxious but to bring our prayers and petitions to God. God is not surprised by what is happening and we trust in him.
Hundreds of times in the Word of God we are instructed to not be afraid. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We know that God is the prince of peace and that his peace passes all understanding. During this time, we continue to have peace and know that God is good and that he has a plan.
As of March 16, we have cancelled or suspended all group retreats, events, and gatherings at Center Lake until May 4th. This includes our Men’s Retreat scheduled for May 1-3.
We are still planning for summer camp! We are hopeful that this virus will clear before summer and after a spring of kids being out of school with little socialization, a week of summer camp will be much needed. We continue to move forward with hiring summer staff, scheduling camp speakers, planning games and activities, and much more.
If a week(s) of summer camp is cancelled due to the effects of the Covid-19 virus all money received at registration will be refunded including the required $50 deposit.
We are excited for this summer and encourage you to sign your camper up for camp.
Due to the cancelling of spring retreats, events, and gatherings we have found ourselves, like many others, in a hard financial position. As previously stated, we continue to move forward planning for summer camp and the things we believe are to come.
